As a science studies student, you'll build a foundation in mathematics and the sciences. At the same time, you'll explore the breadth of options available to you, from biology to data science, psychology to physics. By the time you're ready to focus on a discipline and select a major, you'll have the confidence to know you're on a path that excites you.

What You'll Learn
Thinking about majoring in science but aren’t sure about which discipline to select? Clarkson’s science studies program presents the opportunity to explore biology, chemistry, physics and other scientific disciplines available before you select a major.
Upon selecting this course of study, you’ll:
- Work with an academic advisor to develop an individualized course of study for the first semester.
- Select an approved program reflecting your individual goals and academic and career objectives by the end of your first year.
Within this arrangement:
- You’ll explore scientific disciplines beyond the high school level in a hands-on environment emphasizing discovery and innovation.
- You’ll be a fully matriculated student at Clarkson.
- This period of exploration won’t extend the time it takes to complete your bachelor’s degree.
- Students frequently go on to select science-based majors from the Lewis School of Health & Life Sciences, the Coulter School of Engineering and Applied Sciences or the Institute for a Sustainable Environment.
